Voting & Election Information

The Auditor-Treasurer's Office administers the county functions of Federal, State and Local elections. This process involves registration of voters; candidate filings; ballot layout; electronic tabulation programming; election judges training; absentee voting administration; election day signature rosters; election night results; abstracts; maintaining voter history and administering county recounts. This office is a resource to cities, townships and school districts in the election process.

When are elections?

Township elections are held annually on the second Tuesday in March with the exception of Nessel & Lent Townships, which holds their election during the general election in November.

    • 2018  Township Election:  Tuesday March 13, 2018

Federal, State, and City elections are held every two years.

  • Primary Elections are the second Tuesday in August.
    • 2018 Primary Election:  Tuesday August 14, 2018
  • General Elections are on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
    • 2018 General Election:  Tuesday November 6, 2018

Candidate Filing is open from 8am Tuesday May 22, 2018 until 5pm Tuesday June 5, 2018.

Accuracy testing on voting machines will be held on 10/23/2018 at 8:30 am in the County Board Room.
